(1) Conduits or Cable. All electric wiring for light, heat, or power shall hereafter be installed in metallic Conduits or steel-armored cable; and there shall be no open wire or knob and tube work permitted in said Village.
(2) Every service shall have one main disconnect. New service must be underground.
(3) Concealed Wiring. In dwellings of not more than two stories and attic height, and having unpierced vertical separations of not less than one-hour fire-resistive construction extending from the basement floor or the lowest floor to the underside of the roof boards, rigid metal conduit, electrical metallic tubing, armored cable, or flexible metal conduit shall be used for all concealed wiring.
(4) Exposed Wiring. In basements, sub-basements, cellars and sub-cellars, exposed wiring shall be rigid metal conduit, electrical metallic tubing, auxiliary gutters, busways, or surface metal raceways. No armored cable or flexible metal conduit shall be permitted exposed in such locations, except that when armored cable or flexible metal conduit is allowed under the provisions of this chapter, concealed in other parts of the building or structure, such armored cable or flexible metal conduit may be exposed or extended nor more than eighteen (18) inches into basements, sub-basements, cellars or sub-cellars in order to connect to the rigid metal wiring system. Armored cable or flexible metal conduit, not more than eighteen (18) inches in length, may also be used exposed in basements, sub-basements, cellars or sub-cellars, to connect electrical appliances or devices or any movable parts thereof.
